Galata Tower above the Golden Horn

Galata Tower is a compass for the European side. Climb toward it through music shops and laundry lines; from the terrace the Golden Horn turns like a dark ribbon toward the old city, and ferries stitch the water into motion.

What to notice: the round stone drum against a cluttered skyline, rooftop cafés stepping down the hill, and the bridge traffic that never quite stops.

Collector tip: Verify at the tower plaza. Combine with Karaköy coffee and a ferry to Kadıköy if you want the day to feel like a full Istanbul circuit rather than a single viewpoint.
